Blessing of the Bikes

The blessing is organized by the Para-Dice Motorcycle Club of Grand Rapids. The "Blessing" which started in 1972, had 4 bikes and 8 riders who gathered at St. Ann Catholic Church in Baldwin, MI and received a blessing for a safe and happy riding season. Now, thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts gather in Lake County for this yearly event.



Idlewild Music Fest

In its heyday, the Idlewild Resort area was the place to perform for musicians and other entertainers who had already "arrived" and for those that were hoping to get noticed. The Idlewild Music Fest recognizes these musical roots with a three-day celebration.




Iron's Flea Roast & Ox Market

The famous Flea Roast in downtown Irons features bands, amusement rides, horseshoe, softball, volleyball tournaments, arm wrestling, and a super fireworks display. Happening yearly in June.





Luther Logging Days

Come and celebrate Luther's rich lumber and logging heritage. Held every July 4th weekend, there are lots of activities and the whole family will enjoy their trip to Luther.







Pere Marquette River

The famous Pere Marquette River flows through our county.  Each year, people from around the world come to fish the PM for salmon, steelhead and trout. Experienced guides offer fly-fishing expeditions during the Spring and Fall “runs”.

Shrine of the Pines

The Shrine of the Pines is a world famous tourist attraction that is displayed in a Northwoods hunting lodge. It's located in a secluded, wooded spot on the banks of the historic Pere Marquette River. Open May 15-October 15 last tour starts at 5:30 pm.

Troutarama

Troutarama is held in Baldwin on the last weekend of July. Featured events include carnival rides, a petting zoo, kid's fishing contests, softball tournaments, entertainment/beer tent, local fire department's water fight, Miss Lake County contest and a parade with the Scottville Clown Band.




West Michigan's Longest Yard Sale

This massive yard sale will stretch along M-37 through Newaygo and Lake Counties. The route includes over 75 miles of Antiques, crafts, treasures and various food vendors. You'll find homeowners selling stuff they've accumulated throughout the years as well as professional dealers and vendors. It's almost impossible for shoppers to cover the entire route in four days, so be prepared to pick up where you leave off next year! You're going to discover some neat places, interesting people, and quaint stops that you'll probably want to visit again and again. So pack your camera, sunglasses, a good pair of walking shoes, and plenty of cash- you're in for the West Michigan's Longest Yard Sale!
