X-county skiing, snowmobiling, dog sledding, snow shoeing or just plain old fashioned hill sledding….winter in Lake County is FUN!  Our snowmobile trails are groomed to perfection.  Both the Trail Riders Snowmobile Association www.baldwinsnowmobiling.com and the Iron’s Tourist Association www.ironsarea.com groom over 300 plus miles of snowmobile trails that connect to other trails leading into surrounding counties.  Snowmobile enthusiasts have utilized our trail system to connect easily to other county’s trail systems that venture as far north as the Upper Peninsula!  Snowmobiling on roads is also permissible in Lake County.

X-county skiing is fun for the whole family and Lake County has a beautifully groomed  trail system, Pine Valley Pathway.  It is located just north of Baldwin off M37 on  7 mile.  Michigan’s DNR oversee the grooming of the trail and restrooms & parking are available.

Dog Sledding activities take place each winter at the Wooden Nickel Dog Sled Compound.  It is located on the Northside of US 10 just past the M37 & US 10 corridors.  For schedule of events, click onto our calendar / events tab.
